Had no clue what he was referring to and he pointed me to this TechCrunch post on Ginx. Oddly, as of yesterday I wasn't on Ginx yet because I was waiting for a beta invite code from them. So I guess this makes me a "collateral" expert. Oh well, beggars can't be choosy I guess...

OK I know there is no shortage of narcissism or self promotion here on the Net. You need to work with me on this one. I was chatting with a friend that blogs for some Web App company and giving him so feedback on how to create some fresh and exciting media for his community. While we were brainstorming he mentioned a domain name he had that he might do a new project with. I though project sounded good but wasn't 100% on the name he proposed. At that moment I flashed on another name that would be perfect for me. Ready? Sure now? OK:

BIGIN.ASIA

Will probably tie in with business projects more than media but you never know. These things seem to be merging more and more and that fine white line that once seemed so clear is starting to blur...

Anyhow, sure love the name!

I was just prompted by another new-media creature friend (one that I even met in person-oooh) that 2 analogies of mine will never be forgotten by him: 1) Skype is like the web 2.0 backyard fence, 2) Twitter is the Web 2.0 steam pipe.

I've been geting all kinds of nice feedback from listeners on "Clone Music" show Yeaaaaaahhhhhh. Here is some cool CD ART from Michael complete file here

This is commentary and alternate music list from Doug from The Beta Army

Those of who subscribe to the feed will have gotten the special episode that is the "Getting a Leg Up" podcast, where J.C. Hutchins describes what music styles each of the clones listens to. Then Mark Forman put on songs that fit that style, and still fit into the context of the show. I thought I might share some of my music ideas that didn't need to fit into the context of the show.

John - Female vocals that can rock and also some folk. For the rock side of things, I thought of Curve, and Jem to a lesser extent. For the folk side of things, early Liz Phair (Exile in Guyville) and Mia Doi Todd.

Michael - Rock for workouts, classical for downtime. I couldn't come up with anything to original for this one. Maybe some stereotypical military rock like Disturbed and Godsmack. For classical, maybe some Beethoven and the Three Tenors.

Jack - Motown. Beyond the obvious James Brown and Temptation, he might get into some Gnarles Barkley.

Jonathan - World Music. Maybe some Think of One, Sulif Keita, and Buean Vista Social Club

Father Thomas - Headbanging rock, with possible spiritual influences. Maybe some Skillet, Pillar, and Kutless. Or if he got really heavy, some Demon Hunter and Zao, but I don't think he goes that far out.

Dr. Mike - Hispanic/California scene. Some Los Amigos Invisibles and Cafe Tacvbu.

Killroy 2.0 - Electronic. I know he said trance and such, but trance seems a little too upbeat for him. I see him more as a Aphex Twin and Squarepusher kind of guy than a Sasha and Digweed kind of guy. You also can't rule out that drum and bass goes very well with working on computers, so maybe some Roni Size thrown in there.

John Alpha - Anything with screams. Going with that, I thought Bloodsimple, Ministry, and possibly some Nine Inch Nails. But any good evil genius with aspirations for world domination needs to listen to some Sinatra.

Any thoughts?
