Gotta love those crazy folks over at Mashable. This time they put together this meta list of resources for indie musicians. Make sure you check out and put them and the power of the web to work for you and your music.

Some of you that have been listening to my A.Connector Cast or reading the blog are aware that I’ve been helping Moshang(Jean Marais) with a viral marketing campaign for the Creative Commons licensed free web download album-Asian Variations. Happy to say that Creative Commons has listed this work in their blog here. I trust that many more people will download it because of this. You should too if you haven’t already! Tell 10 friends too.

Same guy-different theme and place. My new new media venture is A.Connector:podcast, blog, time-shifted conversation space…. I talk more about my global business/marketing ideas and experiences there. It’s a chance for me to “eat my own dogfood”-podcast is a free sample of me in the hope to get more business for my company. Would love to work on some virtual world project for Taiwan/China. That’s the message I’ve been giving to my indie musician friends so why not me right?
Much more of me yakking(if that appeals to you). Hopefully I’ll make some sense from time to time.

First the bad news: actually pretty minor. I got inspired to get new url for my new business podcast. Played around with many different names for the url and podcast and found one for both. Then quickly jump over to snag CC’s Hash 3 discount code for GoDaddy. Well, did get rock bottom price for url (like 7 bucks with discount) but didn’t appreciate GoDaddy’s hard-sell style website dragging out the process with each screen(at least 5 or 6) and pitching me something else each time. So out of synch with good marketing theory, oh well…

Good news was previewed above. I am going to do a podcast drawing from my over 30 years of sales and marketing in products, services and production. Will incorporate some new media marketing content which to me is a continuation of the guerilla marketing conversation I cut my teeth on. Kudos to many fellow bloggers/podcasters mentioned here recently for inspiration and good info.

The one guy I need to give some text love to is Christopher S. Penn-my new media marketing filter of choice, just look here and enjoy those links. Oh name of podcast is “A” Connector Cast with site to be at http://aconnector.com I think it suits me and gives me something to aspire to: being an “A” grade connector applying myself to the challenge of helping people receive the right contacts, information and material.

One of my favorite new media musicians Jonathan Coulton was featured in this NY Time magazine piece. This is an excellent read for understanding more about new media and viral marketing, particularly for musicians.

Ok sports fans/ You heard it here from the bluesman. Check it out immediately. FoxyTunes kickass plugin for Firefox. It can control your music player from lower menu bar of window. Even cooler you can do internet search for your favorite music and it will gather available sources for you to stream, and it will provide you with related Youtube and other links available on the net all on one nice tidy page. I’m listening to some old King Crimson live right now-dinosaur epiphany oh yeah! Crikey-almost missed this-Twitty Tunes lets me post tunes I’m listening to to Twitter.

My man Dave Slusher had an interesting “point” on his site today regarding a ruling that appears to favor reason on the definition of downloaded media and the courts opinion on that here.

Hey major props to my boy Rich Palmer(SL: Rich Desoto) and of Audio Gumshoe Podcast (cool name, huh). He came up with killer rocking song for inclusion in Second Life part of Hutch’s 50/50/50 tour for 7th Son book 3. In fact, made old Hutch squirt some tears in my Skype window… heh. Good news: you’ll all get to hear it. Bad news: you’ll have to wait….
