Tunnel Vision

Tunnel Vision

In medical terms, tunnel vision is the loss of peripheral vision with retention of central vision, resulting in a constricted circular tunnel-like field of vision.

In figurative terms: narrowness of viewpoint resulting from concentration on only one aspect of a subject or situation

Sadly a handful of people suffer from the former. What's sadder still is how many suffer from the latter either situational or long term. The way I arrived at this site on Big Snow Mountain, DongShi, Taiwan was wanting to escape the tunnel vision of being in the same space looking at the same things. It was a great time of exploring a tree covered high mountain with all the beautiful scenes that entails. The time spent with my son talking about life, Michael Jackson (it was the day his death was announced), Michael as a metaphor for life, sports, etc. was precious to me.

When I named this photo it was just a spontaneous thought based on the image. In retrospect, it has become food for thought.

Here's soem Tunnel Vision music while you ponder: John Petrucci-Tunnel Vision

  • Nice music pick, BB. Not sure if it's conductive to deep thinking, but I like it anyway.
