		<description>the Mellotron used tape cassettes that allowed one to play (if memory serves, it&#039;s been a long time since i played one) 8 keys at a time.  the recordings were of real instruments and they ran out after a certain number of seconds.  the player had to release the key to reset the tape back to the beginning.  it was a mechanical nightmare but had a distinctive sound.</description>
