Hey Alvie,
Shaolin Soccer with RZA,GZA, Stephen Chow and the Blue Shogun.
Mark,
You were great on the show. I could not tell you guys weren’t in the same room. It was over fast though.
Thanks again,
Big Ed
Big Ed,
Cool brother. Got a couple of things in the pipeline I think you’ll like. Weboth recorded direct into our computers not via skype due to lag.
That was the first time I’ve heard of people doing that, and it worked well. I’m sure BJoe had fun with the resulting jigsaw-puzzle, of course — but as a listener I thought the result was slick.
Michael-I might actually consider doing more via skype interviews provided that interviewee has ability to record. So looks like Hutch and I will be hooking up sooner than later.
Who gets credit for the idea, you or BJ
Originally-I don’t know. I have done this before on previous FreeCulture News PodioBooks.com(with Chris Miller segment). For this interview Joe asked if we could do it this way. Is this the right BJ?-LOL.
Yeah, I think it was my idea to have both Mark and I record our halves of the conversation.
I tried recording the whole thing on my end. Usually the fidelity of a Skype call is about as good as a phone call and sometimes a bit less. On a few occasions the audio is so terrible as to be unusable, as what the case with my Skype call with Mark.
Since I knew Mark had his own recordig gear I suggested he just record his half of the conversation and then send me the file, which is why it sounded like we were both in the same room. If you listen carefully, however, you can hear what I think is rain on Mark’s half of the covnersation.
